The Archetypal Shoe.

Nicholas Kirkwood studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and Shoemaking at the esteemed Cordwainers cobbler program. He also spent five years working for milliner Philip Treacy before deciding to switch to footwear. Obviously a good decision considering his success. Kirkwood has made a name for himself designing conceptual and sculptural shoes; inspired by his love of architecture, for the likes of Chloe, John Rocha, Swarovski, Phillip Lim, Doo Ri, Belstaff, Tommy Hilfiger and Basso & Brooke. All this in his first official season! His emphasis on construction makes his footwear very recognizable, if not entirely safe to wear. The heels get higher and higher each season so I suppose the only way is up for this Brit.
