No 2: David Steinhorst.

German born David Steinhorst, yet another CSM graduate who is challenging the top dogs, is tipped to be the next big thing in fashion. Already he has won the Harrods Design Award and the £5000 prize that goes with it.
He credits zips; that he stumbled upon whilst researching 1920's fashion, as the inspiration for his graduate collection that showed at London Fashion Week this year. He used exaggerated and reconsidered details of the zips to create and inspire his collection. The result was a very imaginative and sophisticated collection of dresses that was full of draping and folding and was toughened up by touches of metallic. There was something of the early creations of Donna Karan about them with sections of material knotted and twisted and trimmed with rows of zips.
